Today I am...

Today I am a meat grinder.
People I hate go in....
Piles of shredded meat comes out.

I am always hungry,
I can't make friends when I'm like this.....
I'll just convert them into mush.

Sometimes mush is better than people.

My best friend...

My best friend and I do everything together.
He stands 8.2 ft and has a long face.
He has crooked teeth and a pretty smile.
His fingers drag on the ground when he walks.
I help him carry them around.
His knees don't bend either so we always pretend we are at a marching parade.
It makes him feel better.
I don't like it when he is angry.
We played doctor once and now he has no eyes.
He can see just fine now because I gave him mine.
We went swimming and forgot he couldn't swim.
He's really nice except when he's mean.
I sometimes get tangled in his long hair.
He smells so bad but I'm used to it.
His skin doesn't hold onto him very well.
We stapled all of it back on though.
We play boards games and use his fingernails for pieces.
I had a pet once but he told me it ran away.
I think he's lying.
His shoes never fit because he has big bones.
I wish he would let me sleep at night sometimes.
He makes too much noise outside my window.
Such a nice fellow......
I'm glad he's my friend.

The One Thing In My Life

The one thing in my life,
being not reserved to an object,
but an entity, a necessary thing,
that I truly love and can love me back,
it would have to be....
A remarkable and warm necessity.
How can someone love a dank and cold object anyway.
Compared to this, nothing can possibly matter more.
I've held this warmth many times and couldn't get enough.
The way I can wrap myself around and myself be wrapped.
This can not be short of anything but a blessing.
I find myself sometimes feeling that I am a failure...
A fraud, simple-minded, worthless, what could I ever amount to.
However, everyday I come home and find my special haven.
I place myself back into warmth and let everything melt.
So, this is also relief from my toughest critic.
I find peace in this.
To sum it up in two words: I couldn't.
Such a great and tender love,
such a loving return.
I love the incredible joy I get in that place,
next to her.
I would never trade my place beside her for anything,
nothing could compare.
She, my necessity, has wrapped her arms around me.
There'll be a time when I can stay in them forever.
For now... I will suffer the wait.
She is the true embodiment of love,
she is... The One Thing In My Life.
